JOB DESCRIPTION
Senior Planner – Land Use: The Pioneer Valley Planning Commission, a proactive regional planning agency serving 43 cities and towns comprising Hampden and Hampshire counties in western Massachusetts, seeks a highly qualified motivated Senior Planner to focus on work at the intersection of land use planning and public health. This person will work with cities, towns, and partner organizations to advance municipal policy, systems and environment changes that will address social determinants of health, including pedestrian and bicycle planning, food access planning, zoning revisions, and other opportunities. The ideal candidate will have 4 to 7 years planning and urban design experience, a Master’s degree in Planning or related field, enjoy working with municipal officials and volunteers using regulations to advance community goals, understand and value authentic community engagement, and be an exceptional written & verbal communicator.Starting salary $54,500 to $65,500/yr w/benefits, depending on qualifications and experience.
