Planning Technician

JOB DESCRIPTION
The North Country Council Regional Planning Commission (NCC) is looking to fill the position of Planning Technician. This position is full-time with benefits. NCC’s offices are located in bustling downtown Littleton, located a short drive from Franconia Notch State Park, multiple ski resorts, and unlimited White Mountains adventures.
NCC provides assistance to over 50 communities in the northern third of New Hampshire in the areas of community, environmental, and transportation planning and economic development. The focus of this position will be to work with our team to provide technical assistance and information to staff and communities for various planning projects and initiatives, including GIS mapping, data analysis, research, and field work.
Preferred qualities:
• Basic understanding of general planning principles and practices.
• Research and analytical skills.
• Ability to balance multiple projects.
• Familiarity with MS Office Suite and other common computer applications.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to follow instructions and meet deadlines in a collaborative work environment.
• Experience and/or internship in professional planning environment is a plus.
• Candidates with demonstrated experience using GIS software are preferred.
Minimum requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in planning or related field.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to attend evening meetings.
Compensation:
• Full-time position with benefits.
• Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.
