JOB DESCRIPTION
The North Country Council Regional Planning Commission (NCC) is looking to fill the position of Flex-Community Planner. This flexible, demand-driven position offers great opportunity and flexibility for the right person. This position could be a great fit for a retired individual, continuing education student, or someone seeking a flexible lifestyle.
North Country Council provides assistance to over 50 communities in the northern third of New Hampshire in the areas of community, economic development, environmental, and transportation planning. The focus of this position will be to work collaboratively with our team to prepare and assist in the preparation of:
• Comprehensive & Master Plans
• Zoning Regulations & Land Use Ordinances
• Community Development Strategic Plans
• Revitalization Plans
Preferred candidates will have experience in zoning, the local land use approval process, and shall possess the skills to take a lead role in managing tasks. We are looking for a planner who can communicate well (written and verbally), has a strong technical aptitude, and enjoys working in a collaborative environment. Experience with NH land use regulations and GIS analysis a plus.
Minimum requirements include a bachelor’s degree and five (5) years of experience. Must have strong interpersonal and planning skills, possess the ability to make written and oral presentations, lead projects with minimal supervision, and be willing to work in a team environment. Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to attend evening meetings.
This position is hourly, with rate of pay commensurate with qualifications and experience. This position also has the potential to expand into full-time work.
