JOB DESCRIPTION
The Central Vermont Regional Planning Commission seeks a planner skilled in leveraging the power of people working together. Primary areas of responsibility are land use planning and emergency management/hazard mitigation. This position requires broad knowledge of municipal and regional comprehensive planning, planning law, and plan implementation techniques. The successful candidate will enjoy working with volunteer boards in urban and rural communities and have the ability to foresee and adapt to emerging needs.

Successful candidates will have a degree in planning or related field and a minimum of 1 year (Assistant Planner) or 5 years (Planner) experience in regional or local planning. Excellent oral and written communication skills and experience using Microsoft products required. Experience administering zoning regulations or developing climate change adaptation strategies preferred. Skill using graphics software (e.g. Sketch Up, Photoshop and Illustrator) preferred. Attendance at evening meetings required.

Information at www.centralvtplanning.org. This is a full time, permanent position with a salary range of $33,000-$38,000 (Assistant Planner) and $36,000-50,000 (Planner).
