This position provides administrative and paraprofessional support for the Department of Planning and Zoning, and plays a central role as part of the Department’s customer service interface with our customers. In addition, this position also is responsible for initial processing of permit applications, and for the review of selected minor project zoning permit applications. This is a regular full-time non-exempt position with a starting hourly salary of $17.10. The City of Burlington offers a complete and competitive benefits package.

RFP: NH Route 119 Transit Expansion Feasibility Study
Southwest Region Planning Commission, Keene, NH

The Southwest Region Planning Commission (SWRPC) in conjunction with the Route 119 Transit Feasibility Advisory Committee (Advisory Committee) are seeking qualified consultants to perform a study identifying existing and potential demand for the expansion of the Brattleboro Bee-Line bus service or other alternative transportation service along Route 119 in Hinsdale and Winchester, with an examination of transportation service scenarios to Hinsdale and Winchester Villages.

The study will identify demographics of current as well as potential users, reasons for travel (work, medical, shopping, pleasure, etc.), source areas of movement, destinations (employers, shops, stores, medical facilities, recreation), and daily/seasonal/year round demand times with the intent of providing specifically directed transportation services in the most cost efficient and effective way possible. It will evaluate possible expanded service scenarios along and deviating from Route 119 and rank order them in terms of priority for implementation. A solid working knowledge of Maine subdivision, Shoreland zoning, and site plan regulations and concepts required. PLANNING DIRECTOR TOWN OF WELLESLEY

Under the general policy direction of the Planning Board, the Planning Director is responsible for the municipal planning activities of the Town. The incumbent directs and administers the municipal planning, zoning and subdivision control programs within the Town as delineated by state statute and the Town's Bylaws. The Director serves as the Town's principal professional adviser and resource on planning and development issues, and is responsible for recommending, preparing, and implementing the policies, programs, plans and studies needed to guide both the short-range and long-range development of the Town and address planning and land use issues and opportunities facing the Town.

Requires: Master's Degree in municipal planning or related field or equivalent; five years municipal planning experience and two years' supervisory experience; working knowledge of the principles and practices of municipal planning; excellent working knowledge of applicable Massachusetts municipal planning, zoning, and subdivision laws and regulations, procurement law and contract management; ability to acquire working knowledge of the Town's General Bylaws and Zoning Bylaws; excellent verbal and written communication skills; and the ability to prepare and manage municipal budgets.
