This beautiful lakeside community is now accepting new applications for Town Planner.  This department head position includes supervising a small three-person office including an administrative assistant and a code enforcement officer and working closely with several landuse boards led by an active and committed group of volunteers.

Ideal qualifications include being (a) knowledgeable in planning, zoning, subdivision and site plan review regulations, environmental issues and other applicable statutes; together with sufficient knowledge of the building and health regulatory environment to coordinate technical review sessions, (b) familiar with computer software programs and applications for GIS System development and the maintenance; (c) skilled in written and oral communications; and (d) able to involve, and work effectively with, an actively engaged local community.

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in planning, business/public administration, landscape architecture or a related field; five years experience in professional planning, preferably in local government; or any equivalent combination of education and experience which demonstrates possession of the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Master’s degree in planning and supervision, budgeting and management experience a plus.  AICP and other certifications preferred.
