Staff Planner
Addison County Regional Planning Commission, Middlebury VT
The Addison County Regional Planning Commission (ACRPC) in Middlebury, Vermont seeks to fill a full-time position for a Staff Planner. The Planner will help to build stronger communities in Addison County by implementing the projects and programs of ACRPC.
Areas of responsibility will include: 1. Working with ACRPC’s Energy Committee to implement local efficiency and generation projects described in the regional plan, provide energy related education and outreach to the community and implement ACRPC’s projects under its federal energy grants; 2. Marketing and outreach via the commission’s events, newsletter and website; 3. Redevelopment of potentially contaminated properties by managing the ACRPC Brownfields program; 4. Specific watershed and natural resources based work; and 5. other special projects.
The candidate should possess a four year degree in planning or a related field, plus a minimum of 2 years of work experience. The candidate should also possess the following qualities: a working knowledge of rules and regulations relating to planning and development in Vermont, an ability to coordinate and lead diverse interest groups to complete a project, the ability to conduct objective analysis, strong writing, graphic design, communication and computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Access, plus Adobe Suite or other design program. GIS skills are also desirable.
