The Southern Windsor County Regional Planning Commission is located in Ascutney, Vt. is seeking an Assistant Planner to join their professional staff.
This is an exciting entry level position for a planner who would like the challenge of working in a small regional planning commission office. The ideal candidate for this position is a person who wishes to work on a variety of projects including the preparation of local and regional plans, assisting staff with the preparation and implementation of land use, energy, transportation, watershed and emergency management plans; GIS mapping, grant writing and administration. The Planner provides staff assistance to various boards and committees as deemed necessary by the Regional Planning Commission Board and/or the Executive Director.
This position requires a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in planning or a closely related subject area. The candidate must have excellent communication and computer skills. The ability to use Geographic Information Systems (GIS) is preferred. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to work with complex regulations and issues.
Salary range is $28,000.00 to $34,000.00.
